As a contributor for the Icon Concierge I attended the Fall 2013 Rebecca Minkoff runway show on Friday. It was my second season covering Rebecca Minkoff and I couldn't have been more excited. Even with the blizzard coming down, people packed in to see the designer's collection.
Below is my article which you can also read here.
Rebecca Minkoff defines the term ready to wear with her Fall 2013 collection. Every look that came down the runway was a look I would personally wear. Rebecca Minkoff’s shows are always a favorite of mine and a New York Fashion Week staple.
he Fall 2013 collection is a ladylike-meets-tomboy style with a hint of futuristic details. In the show’s program, Minkoff states “The functional design elements of spacesuits translate to futuristic fine points: utilitarian finishes, modern closures, wide zippers, padding and quilting.” This is shown with oversized shoulders and details that give a tough, chic edge.
My favorite accessory that seems to be hitting the runways this season, is thebeanie. Minkoff incorporates it into some of the looks, really giving this collection the sense of wearability. Pop of neon colors and bold patterns also made an appearance, proving that its one trend thats here to stay.
As the models strutted their stuff on the runway, Wild Cub rocked it. Leandra “The Man Repeller” Medine, Brian Boy, Ashlee Simpson and Jaime King were among some of the familiar front row faces.
Rebecca Minkoff’s collection is one I see everyone wanting a piece of. There is something for everyone, and I have no doubt it will be a fan favorite this season, as it usually is.
