Sunday night marked Designer Georgine's first Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week debut, at the new Pavilion in Lincoln Center. Known for a fusion of classic and modern, casual and formal, bare and intricate, her fall/winter 2014 was just that. Perfectly chic with timeless pieces that were also on trend.
For this season she was inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth and there was a mixture of color blocking, fur, florals, and silk. The lace and leather detailing in the pieces also enhanced the pieces creating an alluring ensemble. The color palette consisted of Browns, blacks, red berries, teals, and sapphire blues, perfect for the fall season.
Some of my favorite pieces were the floral print dresses, and pants. The two-tone color pairing in rich colors was perfect and made the graphic designer in me gush. Also the silhouettes and overall structure was flattering.
One of her favorite pieces from the collection was the forest green cashmere wool coat. Drop shoulders and oversized, the coat wasn't styled with a belt for the show, but does indeed come with one. The belt ascents the waist while still giving it the popular oversized trend in the back while still being form fitting. The multi functional aspect ( You can wear it with or without sleeves) is what also drew me to it, not to mention an obsession with leather sleeves.
Georgine is one to watch in the upcoming seasons, and her F/W 2014 collection is proof.
