Georgine was one of my favorites last season and this season is no exception. Her Spring/Summer 2015 collection was inspired by the glamorous demimonde who descended onto Saint-Tropez during the summers of the 1970’s.
"I had taken a trip to Thailand, where I spent my whole time in my bikini on the beach. In the night time we would go out to dinner and I didn’t want to change out of that since it felt so good. I would just throw on a pair of high waisted pants. I started thinking of the 1970's and Bianca Jagger, and what they would dress like going to a nightclub in Saint-Tropez or back here in the city to Studio 54.”
Georgine’s collection did just that, with the combination of beachside sophistication with 1970's glam. The collection consisted of rich creams, bright oranges, reds, mint greens, luxurious golds along with metallics, blacks and whites. As well as flowy cover ups, dresses and top that are perfectly fit for those warm summer days and nights.
Some of my favorite pieces were the bathing suits, especially the metallic one piece. Being from NYC, I love mixing a city vibe with a beach one, so this bathing suit is ideal. Another one of my favorite pieces was the metallic maxi dress, with slits in all the right places. It was paired with the surfboard clutch (in collaboration with Max Steiner Designs), which I instantly fell in love with. I mean who wouldn't?.
Even though summer just ended, this collection has me wishing it was spring already (Sigh how many more months?).
Do you guys have a favorite from the collection? I know it’s hard to choose!
